Terms & Conditions
The terms under which Society of Scholar Writers provides academic support services. Please read these carefully before placing an order.
Last updated: 1 January 2025
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Society of Scholar Writers website and services. By placing an order or using our services, you agree to these Terms in full. If you do not agree, you must not use our services.
Society of Scholar Writers ("we", "us", "our") is an academic support organisation registered in England and Wales. Our registered address is 27 Scholars Lane, Bloomsbury, London, WC1B 4AP.
1. Service Usage
Society of Scholar Writers provides academic support services, including model essay writing, assignment guidance, dissertation support, editing and proofreading, research consultancy, and PhD-level mentoring. All services are provided for the purpose of academic learning and development.
By using our services, you confirm that:
- You are at least 18 years of age, or have the permission of a parent or legal guardian
- You will use any work delivered by Society of Scholar Writers as a model answer, reference resource, or study aid only
- You understand and accept that submitting work produced by a third party as your own, without appropriate attribution, may constitute a breach of your institution's academic integrity policies
- You take full personal responsibility for how you use any work delivered to you
- The information you provide in your brief is accurate to the best of your knowledge
2. Intellectual Property
Upon full payment for an order, copyright in the delivered work transfers to you, the client. You may use the work for personal study, reference, and learning purposes.
Society of Scholar Writers retains no ongoing rights to the delivered work after transfer. However, we retain the right to use anonymised structural templates, methodology frameworks, and general writing patterns for internal quality purposes.
You must not:
- Resell, republish, or distribute work delivered by Society of Scholar Writers to any third party
- Represent delivered work as your own in academic submission contexts without appropriate disclosure
- Use delivered work in a manner that infringes upon the intellectual property rights of the specialist who produced it or any third-party source cited within it
3. Fair Use of Model Answers
All work delivered by Society of Scholar Writers is provided as a model answer and academic reference resource. It is intended to demonstrate how a strong academic response to your brief might be structured, argued, and referenced — not to be submitted verbatim as your own work for formal assessment.
We strongly encourage all clients to:
- Use delivered work to understand how arguments are structured at the relevant academic level
- Study the referencing and source integration approaches used
- Produce their own independent written work informed by the model
- Consult their institution's academic integrity and misconduct policies before submitting any assessed work
Society of Scholar Writers accepts no liability for any academic or disciplinary consequences arising from a client's misuse of delivered work.
4. Orders and Payment Terms
An order is confirmed when we have received your brief, issued a quote, and received full payment. Work will not begin until payment is confirmed. We will notify you of the expected delivery date upon confirming your order.
All prices are quoted in Pounds Sterling (GBP) and are inclusive of the revision window described in Section 5. Prices are fixed at the point of quotation and will not change after confirmation, unless the scope of the brief changes with your agreement.
Payment is due in full before work commences. We accept major credit cards, debit cards, and bank transfers. Receipts are issued on request.
We reserve the right to decline any order at our discretion, including requests that we consider to violate these Terms, applicable law, or our editorial standards. In such cases, any payment received will be refunded in full.
5. Revision Policy
Every order includes a revision window of 14 days from the date of delivery (21 days for PhD-level work). During this window, you may request revisions to delivered work where it does not comply with the requirements clearly set out in your original brief.
To request a revision:
- Submit your revision request in writing within the revision window
- Clearly identify which requirements of the original brief have not been met
- Provide any additional instructions that are consistent with the original brief scope
Revisions are provided at no additional charge where the request relates to brief compliance. We reserve the right to decline revision requests that:
- Represent changes to the original brief (rather than compliance with it)
- Are submitted outside the revision window
- Are unreasonable or disproportionate in scope
Revision requests do not constitute grounds for a refund. Our revision policy is our primary remedy for quality concerns.
6. Refunds
We do not provide refunds as a matter of routine. We offer revisions as our primary remedy for work that does not meet the specified brief. Refunds will only be considered in the following exceptional circumstances:
- We are unable to deliver the completed work by the agreed deadline and you have not agreed to a revised deadline
- We are unable to complete the order due to specialist unavailability after payment has been received
- A material error in our order processing results in delivery of work that is entirely outside the agreed scope
Refund requests must be submitted in writing within 7 days of the delivery date or non-delivery. Refunds, where approved, will be processed within 14 business days to the original payment method.
7. Confidentiality
We treat all client identity and project details as strictly confidential. We will not share your personal details or project information with any third party except as described in our Privacy Policy. All specialists engaged by us sign confidentiality agreements covering client data and project content.
We will not use client work as examples, case studies, or published materials in any public-facing context. All work is delivered exclusively to the commissioning client.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Society of Scholar Writers shall not be liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from your use of our services
- Any academic, disciplinary, or professional consequences arising from your use or misuse of delivered work
- Any loss of grades, academic standing, or employment opportunity
- Any data loss or security breach beyond our reasonable control
Our total liability to you for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the specific order to which the claim relates.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
9. Website Use
You may use our website for lawful purposes only. You must not use our website to transmit unlawful, harmful, defamatory, or infringing content, or to attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to our website for users who breach these Terms.
10. Governing Law
These Terms and any dispute arising from them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales in relation to any dispute arising under these Terms.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page indicates when these Terms were last revised. Continued use of our services after any revision constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will notify existing clients of material changes by email.
